Reelyrics vs Rotor Videos
Checked October 2026 · written by Reelyrics, so read it with that in mind
The short version
Pick Rotor if you need Spotify Canvas and Apple Music motion art alongside lyric videos. Pick Reelyrics if you want lots of short vertical lyric clips from one song: lyrics are transcribed for you, curated b-roll is picked for each line, and one-off videos cost about a dollar instead of four Rotor credits.
Who finds the footage?
Reelyrics comes with its own curated b-roll: collections of aesthetic clips and stills with a consistent look, included on every plan. It reads your lyrics' imagery and mood, picks a collection that fits, and matches a clip to each line — so you never browse stock sites or search the internet for footage. You can still upload your own.
You build the video from your own clips and images, or from Rotor's video library.
Side by side
| Criterion | Reelyrics | Rotor Videos |
|---|---|---|
| Where the b-roll comes from | Built-in curated b-roll (clips and stills) chosen from your lyrics' imagery and mood and matched to each line, cut on the downbeats. No browsing. | Your own clips and images, or footage from Rotor's library. |
| Lyrics & timing | Transcribed from the audio on upload, timed word by word; you can edit any line. | You supply the lyrics as text; Rotor's AI aligns them to the music. |
| Price | $12 one-time for 10 exports; monthly plans from $29 (25 exports). No free plan. | Lyric videos cost 4 credits; credits are $9.99 each, with bulk discounts. Subscriptions also available. |
| Vertical (9:16) output | Every export is 1080×1920 (9:16) Full HD MP4, no watermark. | Exports in social formats including 9:16 and 1:1. |
| Best for | Artists who want a steady stream of short lyric clips from one release for a fan page. | Artists who want several kinds of release video (lyric, Canvas, Apple Music motion) under one subscription. |
Which one is for you?
Pick Rotor Videos if…
You need release formats beyond lyric clips, like Spotify Canvas, Apple Music Album Motion or artwork videos.
Pick Reelyrics if…
You want to skip typing out lyrics and choosing footage, and you'd rather pay $12 once for ten clips than $9.99 a credit (a lyric video is 4 credits).
Where Rotor Videos wins
- Covers more formats than lyric clips: Spotify Canvas, Apple Music Album Motion, artwork and music videos.
What Reelyrics doesn’t do
- Vertical short-form only. Not the tool for a full-length 16:9 YouTube lyric video.
- No free plan. The way in is $12 for ten, and those are the same Full HD, no-watermark exports every plan gets.
